About this course

This in-person certificate course trains you as an entry-level electrical and solar technician. Classes run three times a week in the campus workshop lab, and most of the time is spent doing the work yourself: stripping and terminating cables, wiring distribution boards, mounting panels, connecting inverters and batteries, and testing what you have built. The course follows the order of a real job. You start with electrical basics and safety, then learn domestic wiring (lighting and power circuits, earthing, breakers and RCDs), and move on to solar: how PV systems work, choosing panels, inverters and batteries, sizing a system for a home or shop, mounting and cabling, protection, commissioning and net metering. Each week ends with a short practical task, and the course ends with a supervised practical assessment. Classes are taught in Urdu and keep the English technical terms used on datasheets and job sites. Students who attend at least 75% of the classes and pass the final practical receive the campus certificate.

Requirements

  • Matric (or equivalent) with basic reading and arithmetic
  • No previous electrical experience required
  • Closed shoes and cotton clothing for workshop days (safety gear is provided)
  • A notebook and a simple calculator

Who this course is for

  • School and college leavers looking for a technical trade
  • Electricians' helpers who want formal training and a certificate
  • DAE and vocational students who want hands-on solar experience
  • Anyone planning to work as a domestic electrician or solar installer
