Usage & repayment
After the online test and the in-person pitch, NSDP approves your startup and you sign the financing and equity agreement.
Half of the approved amount is released to start the business.
Released after a progress review shows the business is running and the funds are used for business.
Repayments start 6 months after the first release, in equal monthly instalments, so the full amount is returned within 3 years.
For approved startups, NSDP holds a 5–10% equity stake, set at approval by the amount and the stage of the business. It is separate from the financing, which is always repaid in full.
Before you apply
How selection works
Everyone eligible takes the same online test from home, anywhere in Pakistan or overseas. Only shortlisted students travel, once, for the in-person stage.
Sign in and fill in the form. Your courses are checked automatically: 90%+ completed, 75%+ attendance for live and on-campus classes, 60%+ quiz and assignment averages, fee cleared.
NSDP confirms your course record and your details, then invites you to the online test.
A timed multiple-choice test on the NSDP portal in a scheduled window. Questions are shuffled for every student, there is one attempt, the test runs full-screen and leaving the test window is logged.
Combined score: test 60% + course performance 40% (quiz average, assignment average and attendance). The highest scores are shortlisted.
At an NSDP campus or office: original CNIC check, a short supervised re-test or viva, and a short business pitch to a panel.
Approved startups sign the financing and equity agreement; the first 50% is released.
The online test is fair and quick for thousands of applicants and gives instant scores. The in-person stage checks your original CNIC and re-tests you under supervision, so nobody can win a place with a faked score or by sending someone else, and only the shortlist has to travel.
